Married Man πŸ€΅πŸ»πŸ‘°πŸΌ

So it’s been a few weeks since my last post. I’ve just entered week six of my programme with Hall Training Systems in Oxford.Β Technically it’s week eight now, but I had a short time off training as I had the small matter of GETTING BLOODY MARRIED to tend to! 😬

You’ll be pleased to know it was an amazing day for Vikki and I, and we loved celebrating with our family and friends. The day couldn’t have gone any better. Here’s a few photos of our special day for you to enjoy, and to see how much I’m punching above my weight

A week long mini-moon in Cornwall followed.

I returned with a body fat percentage similar to that of clotted cream but without an ounce of regret. Life’s all about balance after all and not fretting if you swallowed a whole Magnum in one go. We’ve all done it.

A return to work meant a return to training, and I’m well and truly back into it (training, less so work 😁).

My programme has changed and it’s seen the introduction of more conditioning work – I did sled pushes for the first time ever and loved them – the usual stack of compound movements, and a few isolated movements too.

I’m loving having a workout routine that doesn’t focus on the t-shirt muscles – which I definitely spent ages on back in the day. My back and gammy shoulder have been getting a real battering as we’ve focused on perfecting movements and getting the most out of each lift.

My hamstrings and quads haven’t had an easy ride either. Before I started this programme, I rarely suffered from DOMS – mainly because I’d do the same things and never really challenge myself. Now though, DOMS is a regular occurrence so I’ve been reaching for my Recovery Spray (Awesome Supplements) and having Epsom salt baths – I know, wild eh?

My rest day on Wednesday sees me making more noises when I have to stand up from my desk throughout the day. A weirdly nice feeling, though it encourages plenty of odd looks from colleagues, but I’m used to that by now (you’re talking to the guy who used to eat tinned mackerel at his desk).

I’ll update you again towards the end of my eight week programme. Foolishly I didn’t take any photos for before and after, but for me this isn’t about aesthetics. It’s about learning, practising, and getting strong! πŸ’ͺ🏻
