SCI MX Diet Pro Flapjacks

Do you ever feel like you spend half your life in meetings? You know the ones, the meeting to prepare for the meeting to follow up on the last meeting about the meeting beforehand to get ready for the big meeting. Me too.

As much as humanly possible, I make sure I have enough meals and snacks prepared to get me through the day, but it’s not always something that can be managed. That’s when protein bars come into their own.

Today I was lucky enough to have two bars land on my desk from SCI-MX; their brand new Diet Pro Flapjacks – Banoffee, and Chocolate Peanut Butter flavours – man do they know me well.

You would’ve been excited too.

Officially launched this week, these badboys have been in development for over 12 months. The result? A bar that delivers 20g protein, 13mg green tea, 250mg L-Carnatine and only 1.5g sugar as it’s sweetened with Stevia.

Most importantly of all, these bars deliverΒ bigΒ on taste. I’ve had my fair share of protein bars over the years, and for me these are right up there with the best, and a million miles from the ones which are like biting into an overused cushion.

Tasty, chewy, and a real winner.

The chocolate peanut butter one was my favourite of the two but anyone who knows me will tell you that peanut butter is my achilles heel, so it was always going to win. Tip of the cap to the banoffee though, she ran a bold race.

Here’s a quick look at the all-important macros:

Impressive profile, that’s for sure.

If you suffer from coeliac disease or are sensitive to gluten, then unfortunately these bars aren’t going to be your bag due to the hydrolysed wheat gluten. Dairy intolerant folk need also look elsewhere as the bars contain a few milk-tastic ingredients.

Everyone else…get stuck in!

The bars will land in Tesco as of April 2015, and in all specialist retailers – both on and offline. While you’re here, get following SCI-MX on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram too.
