Working for a publisher means that I’m surrounded by dictionaries. Before writing this piece, I wanted to double-check the definition of a certain word before I made any foolish claims.

Based on the above, I can confirm I am an addict. Fortunately, my addiction is not to taking my pants off in public, and/or heroin.
Ladies and gentlemen, my name’s Lewis, and I’m addicted to nut butters.
I don’t know about you, but I just can’t get enough of the stuff. Thankfully the days of getting through 1kg a week are behind me thanks to an intensive rehabilitation program and placing myself in solitary confinement for days on end.
I did in fact give up nut butters for Lent, and I can honestly say it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, even harder than Level 82 on Candy Crush.
A few weeks back, the powers of Twitter led me to Hognuts Nut Butters. As soon as I took a look at their butters, I knew I was onto a winner.
A few tweets later, and I had some samples on their way to me, so all I had to do was wait and try to fend off the cold sweats.
24 long hours later, the samples arrived and this sweaty and shaky wreck of a man was happy once more.
The chances are that you might not have heard of Hognuts up until now, and that’s probably because it’s a small, local business…of just 2 people!
The concept is simple – make nut butters as healthy and delicious as possible, starting with the raw ingredients and adding as few other ingredients as possible.
As a self-proclaimed nut butter connoisseur, I can tell you that these are pretty special.
I honestly don’t know where to start with these incredible flavours, each one more delicious than the next. From coconut and cashew, to the high protein pecan and maple, along with the staple whole-nut peanut butter, you just won’t experience tastes like them anywhere else.
The personal highlight for me was the high protein pecan and maple butter. Mind = Blown. Crunchy, sweet and salty, it ticks all the boxes on this addicts list.
Just in case that’s not enough for you, the products are vegan friendly, and gluten free. Just remember, they contain nuts!
